The approach taken for print design is far different than that used in web design. Images must be higher resolution (minimum 300 dpi) and color management is important.

For example: your computer monitor produces images from 3 colors; red.green.blue. (or RGB). Printed products are normally separated into 4 colors referred to as CMYK, an abbreviation for CYAN . MAGENTA . YELLOW . AND BLACK
.

Frogazul designs numerous types of printed products, including but not limited to:

Flyers
Trifold brochures
Presentation folders
Labels

Cards and Letterhead

Catalogs

Corporate Magazines
Annual Reports

For design of printed products we typically use Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Quark Xpress and Photoshop to develop the final product in "Ready to Print" format. We work closely with your printer to ensure you get the result you are expecting. If you do not have a printer, we can help you locate one.

After determining the exact type of literature required, the design process usually follows a path similar to the following:

Step 1: You provide us with all the materials and text input required. This may include a typed document, digital photos and/or a sketch of what you want. You may even send us samples of other literature that looks similar to what you expect to receive. Remember: photos must be 300dpi at actual size required for printing. If you have a small 3x5 photo and you intend to use it enlarged for a magazine cover, this will not work. The photo will lose quality once it has been "stretched" to fit the 8.5 x 11 paper size.

If you do not have all the photos and illustrations you require to complete the project, Frogazul can provide library photos from our own collection, or we can help you locate sources for photos and send you samples for review.

Step 2: Rough Design Stage - A rough layout is done and sent to you for review and View largercomments to ensure we View largerare going in the direction you wish. From this first stage we are able to refine the product to be closer to the required end result. The samples are normally in either JPG or PDF format for on-line proofing (lower resolution). For thoise who prefer not to receive proofs via email we can post them on a special web page for viewing. To see larger samples of the designs shown here, click on the thumbnail images.

Step 3: Final Proof Stage - After a few more exchanges of on-line proofs we are ready to go to final proof or "pre-print" proof. At this point we typically send you a hard copy proof for review and sign off. At this point the only changes might be color composition, as colors on line will tend to look different than those printed.

Step 4: Deliver the finished designs to the printer - Once Frogazul receives the final "go ahead" we then forward the electronic files to the printer of your choice.

If and when you are ready to get started, email us or fill out our Request for Information form and we will contact you right away.
